Storyboards are an important part of the planning process. Once students have decided on a scene or concept, they need to start the planning process. We have our students use color pencils, no pens or markers. This allows for erasing and rewriting without having to run off more paper.

The complexity of the storyboard design and illustrations will greatly range by age. Students in the third grade completed much simpler storyboards than the students in the 6th grade. Shown below is a storyboard completed by a 6th grade GATE team of students. Note the attention to detail!
