What is a fault?

Faults are places where rocks have fractured (created )  and been moved.
The pressure caused by tectonic plates builds up over time and eventually causes breaks in the crust of the earth.  This is where rocks grind past each other. When this happens, earthquakes can happen.

There are three major types of faults :

bullet
strike-slip,
bullet
normal,
bullet
reverse
