Inside Caterpillars, the discovery
56K Catepillars Movie ] 100K Caterpillars Movie ]

We saw this climbing on a rose bush. The caterpillar looks young because it has bright green skin. We don't know exactly what kind it is. We looked in four different books and could not find a picture that matched this one. We think it has a yellow stripe down the side, started at the top, but it is hard to tell. We know these facts:

It has at least four pairs of "claspers" (they are in the middle)

It is a "smooth" caterpillar because it doesn't have any hair, bumps, horns, tails, etc. When Jeremy picked it up it felt fuzzy.

We think it might be one of these:

- clouded sulfur / alfalfa butterfly

-American snout
