Inside Japanese Americans

Japanese Americans

The Japanese left Japan in 1885 because the Japanese government officially allowed emigration. In 1887 the first Japanese arrived in Vacaville to work for very little money.

The Japanese left the region because when the government let them out, they wanted freedom from staying in Japan, dying from starvation, and also to earn some money.

The Japanese experienced Solano County as a hard working city. They came to Solano to be farmers and hard working citizens.

They faced little money and food was scarce. There was NO time for fun. There was a lot of people who were sick.

Japanese headstone pictuer
There were two sections in Rockville Cemetery that had a lot of Japanese headstones. One was a family plot (it had a cement border) and the other I couldn't tell. There were some other headstones in other places too.
