Step 1: THE SIDE-TO-SIDE ADJUSTMENT

|
Once your camera is on the pan head, move to the front of the camera
and look straight at the lens. The center of the lens should be
directly over the pivot axis of the pan head. Adjust the side-to-side
settings so the lens is centered over the pivot.

|
Step2: Frontward/backward ADJUSTMENT
|
Set up your camera inside a building just inside of a doorway.
Try to put it in front of a the doorway so that you can see the
edge of the door frame as well as another vertical line at least
10 feet away (another door in a hallway is best) Position your camera
and tripod about two feet away, or as close as possible with the
edge still in focus when you look through the viewfinder.
Looking through the viewfinder, align a close object (brick wall)
with a faraway object (telephone pole). As you rotate the camera
from side-to-side there should be no relative movement between the
two objects.
|
| Step 3- record your results |
After you have found the settings, mark the panoramic head with
permanent ink. These numbers represent the nodal point for this
given camera and lens combination. If you use a different camera
or lens, or zoom the lens, you will have to find the nodal point
again by doing these 3 steps.
We have written down the nodal point setting for each camera on
each of the different panoramic heads! This information is kept
with the cameras!
