Bio
I am a gifted
education teacher in the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District in
Fairfield, California. I am also the science and social studies web
master for the FSUSD web site. I have worked as a technology advisor
for the
California History-Social studies Project link (http://historyproject.ucdavis.edu/)
at UC Davis, as a GATE Application Reviewer for the California
Department of Education, and as a site technology representative for
my school site. I am a Senior Trainer and Master Teacher for the
Intel Teach to the Future program link (Intel
Teach to the Future Link) and
Intel Innovation in Education Seeing Reason link (http://www97.intel.com/scripts-seeingreason/index.asp)
site where I travel all over the country trainer trainers to
integrate technology into the curriculum.
I
graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Cal Poly-Technical State
University at San Luis Obispo and have taught for 13 years in the
Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District. I earned my CLAD
certificate from UC Davis. I am currently working on Masters of
Science in On-Line Learning and Technology through CSU Hayward. I
also have additional specialized training in technology from
California State University at Los Angeles, New Horizons, Bill and
Melinda GATES Foundation training, Microsoft Corporation, Intel
Corporation, and at NECC workshops. In addition, I hold credentials
in Elementary Education, English as a Second Language, and Social
Science (K-9). I have written many successful grants that have
funded a variety of technology projects. My strengths are in
curriculum design, technology integration, and project-based
learning. My many class projects have won awards from ISTE’s
MultiMedia Mania’s completion in 2002, the National Science
Teacher’s Association “Earth Science Teacher of the Year” award in
2002, and the California Technology Assistance Project Teacher
Recognition Award in 2001. In my free time I work with a
large-animal rescue group,
Llama RescueNet link , which I was a founding board member.
