The Blacksmith

Why should we preserve the Blacksmith Shop?

We should preserve it because blacksmith shops back then they were important because they made and fixed things for war, people and themselves. If we destroy the blacksmith shop, we can't go out and look at the shop.

What is a BLACKSMITH?

A blacksmith works with metal. What is a BLACKSMITH?

This metal was iron. They melted it or heating it so it was soft enough to hammer into a shape.

Blacksmiths have many jobs like pulling people's aching teeth, making hardware; horse shoes, hinges, kettles, nails, armor, and weapons, and put shoes on horses and oxen They repaired stuff that was damaged.

Blacksmiths had to make and repair stuff because back in those days it was too expensive to go out buy it at a store. While shoeing horses they learned about horse diseases and treatment and were used as a veterinarian.

Being a blacksmith is very dangerous because you could burn yourself.

This is Rob, the blacksmith, showing us how to make a leaf out of iron.
