Granary

The granary- A granary was used for storing food and acorns so that the squirrels would not get them .It was made out of tule thatch, which means it was woven out of tule reeds. It was up off the ground and covered with sticky pitch from trees. The top was covered with an animal skin. This one is on the ground and does not have pitch or an animal skin on it.
